Over the last three weeks we have been thinking about why we do church, how we do church, and what doing church looks like (see the Audio Downloads). We will continue to think about the how, what, why and where of church over the next two weeks. Ken Finis will be doing the talks over these two weeks, so why not tune in and check it out!
If you are interested in any of our previous talks or series, then see Dave about getting a CD. Imagine, being able to listen to Dave (thats me), wherever you go! Awesome.
On Saturday, the 29th of November, we will be having a BBQ tea, starting at about 5pm. At about 6pm we will be putting the movie on. Parents are welcome to watch the movie with the kids, or they can have a cuppa and enjoy some chocolate and a chat!
If you are interested in coming along you will not have to bring anything, just let Dave know you are coming by Thursday the 27th of November. It should be a great family night out!
This Saturday, the 15th of November, we are having the last of our sale days at the hall. If you have never been to one before, we have cakes, old stuff that no one wants anymore (except perhaps you!!), books, knitted fluffy things etc. Hairy Harry is not for sale...I cannot believe anyone would suggest it...
As it is the last sale ever, everything has to go! If you want to grab a bargain - come along and check it out! Doors open at 8:30am.
...and no, the church is not for sale...
We have now had two Sundays at the new time of 10am! On the 2nd of November we had a great time and enjoyed a BBQ lunch together while the kids went mad on the jumping castle. During church we have been thinking through what it means to be a Church, and why we are a church.
Other stuff happening in the near future includes another Family Movie Night on the 29th of November. Please let Dave know if you would like to come along. Tea is provided. We will also be having our Kid's Church on the 7th of December. The Kids will be organising and participating - should be cool!
From the 2nd November 2008 our three congregations which meet at different times on a Sunday will be rolling together into one service at 10am.
Coming together as one big church will be a great opportunity for RPC, and it is going to look a bit different. One change will be having variety in the way we do things, the music that we sing and how we sing it, who does what, and even what we eat for morning tea (don't worry, there'll still be chocolate biscuits)!
What will stay the same is our friendly, community feel, our love for each other, our unity in the Spirit and our focus on growth to maturity in Christ.
We want to kick off our new time by having some fun together, and so we're making a bit of a day of it - Free BBQ, jumping castle, great music, time together, and heaps more -
