I'm Back...again.

The Blog Conference took up a lot of time so things here at the website were a bit neglected. The Conference went well and is worth a read if you are interested in the subject of women in ministry. Follow the link!

This Sunday (20th Sept) we have our first officially family Small Church afternoon. We will be hanging around after church to have a light lunch and a chat while the kids run wild!

The following Saturday (26th of Sept) is our second Family BBQ and Movie Night for the term. Last time we had about 8 families come along and share some tea, a dvd and chocolate with some great coffee!

For more info, contact us through the website!

Blog Conference starts!!!

Yep, that is a three exclamation mark heading.

Our Blog Conference concerning women in ministry starts today and runs over the next two weeks. We have a panel of representatives from both sides who are going to present a number of different posts on the issue. These posts cover everything from eldership, to Biblical texts, to legalism and submission. At points the discussion might get a bit heavy, but we hope that anyone interested in the topic would be able to join in the discussion.

Check it out!!!!

I'm back!!!

Thanks to Ken for keeping things ticking over while I was busy blogging. Just a couple of other things people might be interested in...

We have started our new sermon series on Song of Songs. This book in the OT is a collection of love songs/poetry between two lovers. It also serves as a picture of how much God loves us and how fulfilling his love for us is. You might want to check out the talks at our audio downloads, or drop in and catch them 'live'. Always wanted to say that.

This Sunday (30th Aug), we are having a little break from Song of Songs with a guest speaker (Tom Wall) who will be speaking to us from Hebrews.

Also our first "Family BBQ Movie night" for term 3 is on on Saturday the 5th of September. BBQ at 5, movie at 6...coffee and chocolate for the parents!!

With the posting of this entry, the last post title is obsolete!

In case you've been wondering where Dave is, and why he hasn't posted for you here since the last one, don't worry he hasn't forgotten you. But he has been getting into the pre-conference discussion over at our Blog!

There's a number of posts and discussions to check out already, so you should probably be heading over there soon too! The Blog Conference we're hosting with a number of guest contributers from 1st-15th September will be looking at the issue of "Women and Ministry" from different perspectives. This is an issue which still causes debate in churches at times, so we hope that during our Blog Conference we can gain a clearer understanding of God's plan for women (and men), and help foster unity within the wider church. Click over to the blog to join in the discussion and for More info.

Next Church Lunch - Coming early! - Since Father's day falls on our regular date, we'll be having the next church lunch a week earlier on Sunday 30th August. (There's 5 Sundays in this month luckily, so you'll likely be feeling like another church lunch by that point anyhow) Even more great news, it'll involve a fun Trivia competition afternoon organised by the Monday Night Small Church! More details in The Forecast >>

A Small Church has been started which aims to be family-friendly and where interruption by small kids is understood and expected! More details in The Forecast and to follow.

Finally, Young Adults are indeed now meeting, but seem to be very secretive. You can contact us for details, or speak to Tim. (He may deny all knowledge of it, but don't let that deter you. Seek and you shall find.)

I tried to use enough exlaimation marks above to help ease the pain of Dave's recent absence here. Hope that helped. !

Update on the latest!

Our church lunch on the 2nd of August was great! The hamburgers are better at RPC. Our next church lunch is on the 30th of August and will involve a Trivia comp (organised by our Monday Night Small Church).

We have a monthly Young Adults program in the works which will involve the Young Adults getting together once a month to hang out and do what Young Adults do together!

We are looking at starting a Family Small Church on the third Sunday of each month. This will be a family friendly Small Church where the kids will be able to keep themselves entertained while the adults talk. It will look to have a relaxed atmosphere where child interruptions will be expected and accepted as a part of the program!

This Sunday we kick off our new sermon series on Song of Songs!! I'm excited.

Our Blog has started and we are beginning the warm up (the count down) to our first Blog Conference.

The Carol's Outback date has been set for this year, for the 12th of December. We are always looking for people to be involved, help out, or just come along and sing carols. It is still a long way off, but you can put it in the diary now!!

There are lots of things happening. Feel free to come along, ask questions, be involved, make comments and give feedback!
