Evangelism - Not!

On Sunday mornings we have been working our way through John's first letter and thinking about how we share living in the light with those who are not in the light. John reminds us that we are united to God and Jesus, and that through the Holy Spirit we are united to each other. John also highlights the love that we should have for one another...a love that is lived out in action, not just in words. It is a great reminder of who we should be!

This Sunday we check out 1 John 4 and think about how our faith leads us to become loving people!

What a Week!

One of the most rewarding and exciting things about my job at RPC is seeing people change. Last Sunday I was encouraged by a lady who reflected how much our church has changed since she began attending 10 years ago. One of the biggest changes has been the relationships that have developed within the church. When I think over this last week and the time spent with our various Small Church groups, kid's clubs, Teens, Playgroup, DVD night and church morning tea I have seen people interacting with each other.

We are currently working our way through 1 John on Sunday mornings, and we have been reminded that living in the light and being the children of God means living in relationship...loving relationship with God and each other. Jesus told his disciples that this would be how people would know that they were his disciples...their love for one another. RPC is growing in love as we grow as Jesus' disciples. Cool!

Mum's Night Off!!

Tonight (Saturday, 20th of June) is our Family BBQ and Movie Night. It could be a bit wet...but my superbly cooked sausages should be hot (and possibly a bit blackish...).

Next Saturday, however, is our Mum's Night off where the Mum's from our First Friends Playgroup are invited to leave the kids at home with dad and have a night out. If you would like to know about the time and the venue then see Dave or Lisa for details.

Small Church Open Night!!

If you are not on board with what a Small Church is, you can check out the Small Church page to learn more. One of our Small Churches (Wednesday night) is missing some of it's regular members, in fact this Wednesday there will only be ...me! So, if you are interested in coming along for a coffee and a chat let me know. It would be great if a few of us could get together for a mid week catch up!

Also, this Tuesday Night Seamus will be at Ken's place if you feel like a DVD and good company! It is good for us to be in the habit of meeting with each other (to spur each other on to great stuff...Hebrew 10:24-25).

Community Church

Today we had our annual Community Church when we invite the locals along to see what we do and how we do it! We had lots of visitors and an especially 'nice' morning tea (brownies....mmmm...). Thanks to those who came along. It was good to meet and chat with a range of people who live and work in our community.
